Manchester United must pay a big-money fee to sign Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger with the German set to leave the Bridge come the summer when his deal runs out.
A report from The Daily Express has claimed that Rudiger’s camp are holding out for a sizable £25 million signing on fee with the central defender nearing his exit from the English capital.
Chelsea’s arch rivals Manchester United have been tipped to be involved in the widely contested race for Rudiger’s signature as the Old Trafford outfit looks to bring in much-needed reinforcements to bolster the defensive ranks.
Rudiger’s reps are hoping to negotiate a bumper contract for their client with no transfer fees involved in the 28-year-old’s departure from the Chelsea fold on a free transfer this coming summer and no intention of renewing terms at Chelsea.
Thomas Tuchel has been keen on extending a new long-term deal to his star defender who is demanding a major hike in wages to put pen to paper on the contract amid Chelsea’s ownership struggles under Roman Abramovich.
