Kurt Zouma expects to learn a lot from former Paris Saint-German captain, Thiago Silva. Chelsea bought the 35-year-old defender from Paris on a free transfer, thanks to the sporting director Marina Granovskaia. The Chelsea defenders will feel the pressure and will need to up their game with the arrival of Silva in their team.
Kurt Zouma had a superb game in Chelsea’s season opener against Brighton at the Amex Stadium where he also scored a goal for the team. Chelsea won the match 3-1 with James Reece and Jorginho as the other scorers for Chelsea.
Thiago Silva is undoubtedly one of the best centre-backs in the world right now having reached the Champions League final last season where they lost to Bayern Munich 1-0.
Silva was undoubtedly the best player for Paris throughout the season and Zouma is aware of the positivities and qualities the 35-year old will bring to Stamford Bridge.
“I know he will bring experience [to Chelsea]. He is also a great guy off the pitch. He has played great matches, with Brazil, and the Champions League final recently with Paris Saint-Germain.”
The Brazilian defender’s huge experience should help not only the club as a whole but also the young defenders in the team, who could consider him as their mentor.
“He will bring lots of experience, I would say. It will be good training with him, learning from him, it will be great,”said Zouma.
Zouma has been at Stamford Bridge for a long time. He is just 25 years of age and has a lot to learn and improve. Thiago Silva’s arrival will certainly make him a better player on the field for Chelsea.
