Juventus to turn down attention shown by Chelsea in signing Federico Chiesa

Chelsea have been told that it is impossible to sign Italy international winger Federico Chiesa this summer by Juventus who are set to retain the Euros-winning star after his fantastic displays at the mega event.

Chiesa was in flying form for Roberto Mancini’s Italians who ran out deserved victors in the final held at the Wembley Stadium against England after a much tense penalty shootout decided the fate of the match.

The 23-year-old attacker scored twice in his seven outings at the UEFA European Championships and was an influential presence in the Azzuri frontline which made Thomas Tuchel and Chelsea take note of ability heading into the summer transfer window.

Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Chelsea, who have been scouting the market for fresh blood to induct into their attacking ranks, will have to look elsewhere as Juventus will pay out the remaining amount of €40 million to fellow Serie A side Fiorentina after triggering the obligation to buy clause in his initial loan agreement.

Chiesa signed for the Italian giants in the summer of 2020 on a two-year loan deal on the conclusion of which Juventus will fork out €40 million plus €10 million in add-ons.
