Jules Kounde has admitted that he felt let down in the aftermath of his summer move to Stamford Bridge falling through in the final stages.
The French central defender had been a top target for the Blues camp with Thomas Tuchel keen to add the highly-rated La Liga talent to his roster ahead of the start of the 2021-22 season.
Sevilla upped the asking price for their defensive star name which forced Chelsea to pull the plug on the talks underway with the Spanish outfit for bringing Kounde to the English capital in a big-money move.
The Blues are credited with a strong interest in reviving the efforts to land Kounde come January when the transfer window reopens even as Thomas Tuchel suggested that the extension for Trevoh Chalobah could mean a rethink of his plans.
Speaking to French news outlet TF1 (via The Evening Standard), Kounde revealed the falling through of a highly-expected switch to the Premier League with Chelsea came as a blow to him which has subsided as of now.
“The failed move to London this summer hurt me a little, I can’t hide it.”
“But it’s in the past, it’s a moment that I have now digested.”
