Jose Mourinho rejects the chance to move to Chelsea as he eyes PSG move

According to the Daily Express, Jose Mourinho has turned down an approach from Chelsea but is considering moving to Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

PSG head coach Christophe Galtier is actively looking for a replacement since he is anticipated to leave this summer after just one season with the French club.

While Mourinho is in his second season at Roma, his team will likely conclude the season without a trophy and fall short of a top-four position in Serie A despite winning the Europa Conference League last year.

Mourinho’s agent, Jorge Mendes, has spoken with PSG’s director of football, Luis Campos, about the potential of a transfer to France, and the 60-year-old is reportedly interested.

According to the article, Mourinho is now Campos’ top choice for the position at PSG despite having rejected an approach from Chelsea when they fired Graham Potter.

Since the beginning of April, Chelsea has been searching for a new permanent manager after parting ways with Graham Potter due to a string of unsuccessful performances.

Even Frank Lampard has struggled since being appointed caretaker manager till the end of the season. The Chelsea legend lost his first six games before finally picking up three points in a 3-1 victory over Bournemouth on Saturday.

The club’s search for a new manager appears to be nearing an end at Stamford Bridge. This week, a choice will be made, with Pochettino clearly the front-runner to take the helm.

For the following four games, Lampard will continue to serve as the manager. With European football no longer an option, the Blues have very little left to play for, but the Englishman will be motivated to win as many games as he can to better his chances of landing another managerial position in the future.
