Jorginho’s agent suggests his client could return to Italy with Napoli the frontrunners

Chelsea midfielder Jorginho could be on his way back to the Serie A should the Italy international not be handed a new deal at Stamford Bridge, claims the player’s agent João Santos.

Santos has previously suggested on more than one occasion that the Chelsea first-team star is interested in seeking a return to his former side Napoli but had backtracked on his earlier comments by claiming that Jorginho was keen to stay in London.

Jorginho has been a pivotal presence in the centre of the park for Roberto Mancini’s Italians at the UEFA European Championships where the Azzurri are due to face England in the final on Sunday.

The former Napoli man has two more years to go on his current deal with Chelsea and his agent Santos has sparked off speculation once again over his long-term future at Stamford Bridge hanging in the balance heading into the start of the new season, according to reports from football.london.

Santos has said that on the back of Jorginho’s superlative run of form as of late and his desire to be rewarded with a new contract at Chelsea, the west London club’s hesitance to do the same will give rise to talk of his return to Naples.

“Jorginho won the Champions League and has now become a strong point in Italy too. He has earned everything on the pitch, sweating every victory, always giving his all on the pitch.

“He wants to extend his contract with the English club, but, if he cannot do it, he’ll think about returning to Serie A, perhaps at Napoli.”
