Jorginho’s agent says the midfielder wants to extend stay at Stamford Bridge

Jorginho’s agent has said that the midfielder wants to extend his stay at Stamford Bridge beyond the summer of 2023 when his terms are up for renewal.

The Italy international maestro’s future in the English capital has attracted speculation of late with a return to his homeland tipped to be on the cards should he call it quits with Chelsea.

Napoli and Juventus have been credited with a strong interest in signing the Euros-winning midfield man who has been an influential performer in the Blues shirt under the charge of Thomas Tuchel.

Chelsea’s ownership drama that has resulted in the aftermath of the sanctions against the Blues owner Roman Abramovich by the UK government has added fuel to fire over the uncertainty that surrounds Jorginho penning a new deal at the Bridge.

Speaking to the Italian news publication Calciomercato, Jorginho’s representative, Joao Santos, has hinted that the 30-year-old will be keen on extending terms with Thomas Tuchel’s camp despite Juventus right in the mix for the wantaway midfielder.

“We have a contract with Chelsea until 2023 and it is a particular moment for the club, where there are no negotiations, also because the market is blocked both in entry and in exit. If the situation unfolds, the priority will be to deal with the renewal.

“I haven’t talked to Juve, but I know of their interest in Jorginho. Should Chelsea fail to renew their contract, then we will listen to all the teams involved.”
