Inter Milan optimistic about extending Victor Moses’s loan spell

Inter Milan FC have expressed hope of extending the loan deal of Blues player Victor Moses. The Italian side wants Moses to stay at the club till the end of the Europa League campaign. The Chelsea FC player’s current contract with Inter Milan FC is set to expire at the end of June.

The Nerazzurri are hopeful of reaching out to the representatives of Moses and persuading the Nigerian international to stay with the Serie A side until the end of August. The 2019-20 Serie A season has seen a massive delay due to the earlier suspension of league football. Along with Moses, Inter Milan FC are also mulling over a contract extension for Manchester United FC winger Alexis Sanchez.

The 29-year old Moses joined the Nerazzurri on loan earlier this year in January. The player was hopeful of getting more playing opportunities for the Serie A side than what he had got under Frank Lampard at Chelsea FC.

However, the Nigerian international has only been able to make 11 appearances so far for the title-contenders in Italy. The player has been unable to break into Antonio Conte’s starting lineup since his move to the Nerazzurri.

Moses’s future at Inter Milan FC has been threatened further with Ashraf Hakimi set to sign for the Italian side shortly. There had been a possibility that Inter Milan FC could have signed the Blues loanee on a permanent basis following the end of his loan deal. However, with Hakimi’s impending arrival, the Nerazzurri would not keep Moses at the club beyond this season.

The 29-year old wing-back’s loan stint at Inter Milan FC is his second consecutive loan spell away from Stamford Bridge. Moses spent the 2018-19 season on loan at Turkish side Fenerbahçe. He made 20 appearances for them, scoring five goals in the process. However, his loan spell was cut short and he made the move to Inter Milan FC at the end of January 2020.

The future of Moses at Chelsea FC looks bleak as well. Frank Lampard has entrusted youngster Reece James to be the first-choice Blues right-back on many occasions. Moreover, Chelsea FC skipper Cesar Azpilicueta has often deputized in the full-back role for Lampard’s side.
