Former Chelsea winger, Willian joked about staying in Chelsea if he knew that his compatriot Thiago Silva would be moving to Stamford Bridge.
The veteran Brazilian defender joined the Blues after eight trophy-laden years with Paris Saint-Germain. He was the main man leading the team to the UCL final last season as a captain. He switched to Chelsea from Paris at the age of 35 on a free transfer.
However, the Brazilian winger might not have moved to the Arsenal had he known about his international colleague’s next steps.
As per The Telegraph, Willian’s response to the deal was: “If I’d known you were moving to Chelsea, I would have stayed there after all.”
“I’m here to challenge for honors.”
“See you soon Chelsea fans, I look forward to playing at Stamford Bridge very soon,”said Silva after agreeing the deal.
Silva’s arrival can fix the problem plaguing the defense department for Chelsea.
