Harry Redknapp has tipped Chelsea to secure Harry Kane’s signing this summer with the Blues closing in on the appointment of Kane’s former manager Mauricio Pochettino.
Pochettino is said to be on the verge of penning a contract with Chelsea and taking over as the permanent head coach ahead of the start of the next season with the Argentine coach set to return to management after nearly a year long break.
His arrival at the Bridge could well turn the tide in Chelsea’s favour should they step up their efforts to sign Kane who wants to leave Spurs this coming summer with just a year left on his current deal in North London.
Ex-Tottenham Hotspur boss Redknapp reckons that Kane would prefer making the move to Stamford Bridge this summer over Manchester United who are reportedly preparing a huge summer bid for the England skipper.
Speaking to Beyond The Pitch, Redknapp tipped Chelsea to beat Manchester United to Kane’s signature with the Spurs talisman expected to stay put in London despite interest in his services from Real Madrid.
“If Pochettino’s there, I’m sure Harry got on well with him.
“And it’s a great move for him, not far from where I think he’s building a house in that area.
“He’s a family man and he’d be quite happy not moving to the north of England or wherever he’d have to go.
“I don’t see him going abroad, I really don’t. The only club that would interest him is a Real Madrid, and I don’t see that happening. I’ve got a feeling he’ll stay at Tottenham.”
