Fresh injury troubles for N’Golo Kante will keep him out for few games

Chelsea FC boss Frank Lampard has confirmed that N’Golo Kante has sustained a hamstring injury which would keep the French midfielder out of the Blues’ upcoming game against Crystal Palace. The French international had limped off the pitch at Stamford Bridge in Chelsea FC’s recent 3-0 victory against Watford.

Kante had played every minute of Chelsea FC’s Premier League fixtures post the lockdown period. The Blues have been in solid form since the restart of the Premier League took place. Frank Lampard’s side have won three of their last four encounters in the Premier League, with a shock loss coming against rivals West Ham United away from home.

In addition to missing the game at Selhurst Park against Crystal Palace, there is considerable doubt over Kante being fit for the Sheffield United game at the weekend. Lampard stated that Chelsea FC would be quite lucky to have Kante back from injury in time for the game against the Blades.

The World-Cup winning midfielder has been a very influential presence in the Chelsea FC midfield this season for Frank Lampard’s side. Kante’s high work rate, tackling ability, and boundless energy has made him perhaps the most important player in the Blues’ starting lineup.

With Chelsea FC holding a slender two-point lead over Manchester United FC for the fourth spot in the Premier League table, Lampard knows that his side cannot afford any slip-ups as the season nears its end. Both teams are going head to head to book a Champions League spot for next season.

Kante’s injury trouble adds to Lampard’s midfield concerns over the upcoming games for the Blues. Croatian midfielder Mateo Kovacic has already been sidelined due to an Achilles heel problem. However, Ross Barkley has stepped up to the challenge and has put in an impressive shift in midfield for the Blues in recent weeks.

The 29-year old Kante has suffered from a series of injury troubles this season that has curtailed his playing time. The Frenchman has been forced to miss nine Premier League fixtures until now and is on the verge of missing out on more action for the Blues.
