Once again, Chelsea player Davide Zappacosta has returned to Italy. He played a short spell at AS Roma while on loan last season from the Blues before getting a setback due to repeated injuries.
After Chelsea boss, Frank Lampard made it clear that Zappacosta is not in his plans and he wants to get rid of the player, the board was trying to sell him to a club.
But unfortunately due to his unavailability for a long time, no clubs were ready to buy him. It was Genoa who showed some interest in the full-back that helped Chelsea to secure a deal.

Although it is unclear if there is a clause to buy the right-back for Genoa, Chelsea will likely exercise that option at the end of the season despite any spectacular performance.
The 28-year-old Italian will serve the Genoa team to fight against relegation this season after just crossing the boundary with 4 points the previous season.
The Blues spent €30 million on Davide to bring him to Stamford Bridge from Torino in the year 2017. His career in Chelsea was filled with lackluster performances – having played just 17 matches for the club.
He spent the whole previous season recovering from the ACL injury and now he is fit to play.
He still has two years left on his Chelsea contract but the club will want a fruitful season with Genoa so that the Italian side purchases him at the end of the 2020-21 season.
