Chelsea has been flourishing this season in the English Premier League and has certainly shown that they are title contenders alongside Liverpool and Arsenal under new manager Maurizio Sarri.
A recent 3-1 win over local London rivals Crystal Palace helped the Blues continue their unbeaten run in the top flight. Alvaro Morata opened the scoring for the Blues before Andros Townsend pulled the Eagles back on level terms at Stamford Bridge. However, the former Real Madrid striker added another goal after the hour mark and Pedro sealed the deal with a well-taken strike to help the Blues remain hot Man City’s heels and into 2nd place on the table.
Pedro was quite brilliant during the match against Palace and continued to be a menace for Roy Hodgson’s men for the entirety out of the game. BBC’s Match of the Day pundit Danny Murphy sang praises of Pedro in the post-match discussion on the show and massively highlighted his importance at the Stamford Bridge of late.
The former Liverpool midfielder went on to explain why he is a big fan of the Chelsea winger Pedro mainly because of his work ethic and his runs in from behind the opposing defense, ”I’m a big fan of Pedro for a couple of reasons. One, I think the timings of his runs in behind are brilliant. Too many players don’t do that these days. His work ethic is also very good. He hasn’t at Chelsea showed the form that he did in that wonderful Barcelona side. But when he does play, he’s a threat and he got his rewards today.”
Alongside, Eden Hazard and Willian, one player who is not given a lot of credit is the Spanish winger Pedro Rodriguez. If Chelsea is to maintain their ambition to win some silverware this season, Pedro will be playing quite a big hand in it.
