Chelsea’s interest in Anthony Gordon could be affected by Callum Hudson-Odoi’s recall

Chelsea’s long-standing interest in signing Everton forward Anthony Gordon could be affected by Callum Hudson-Odoi’s recall to the Bridge.

The new Blues head coach Graham Potter is said to be keeping close tabs on Hudson-Odoi’s situation at Bayer Leverkusen where the English winger is currently on a one-year loan spell after his move in the summer window.

Amid speculation doing the rounds that Potter is convinced of Hudson-Odoi being an important figure in the Chelsea camp should he return early from his loan, there could be a change in plans regarding Chelsea’s interest in Anthony Gordon.

According to a report from football.london, it is claimed that Gordon will now have to hold out to see if his summer window suitors come back in for his signature after Everton played hardball on the pricing front during talks back in August.

It is understood that Gordon remains on the radar at Stamford Bridge with Chelsea, who have endured a shaky start to the campaign despite a busy summer, looking to freshen their front line by signing a new player.
