Chelsea are in line to offer a contract extension to the in-form defender Trevoh Chalobah who has found his feet with Thomas Tuchel’s side upon the start of the new season.
Reports from Sky Sports claim that Tuchel is keen on rewarding the 22-year-old Englishman with a new deal on the back of Chalobah’s recent run of displays leaving a mark on the Chelsea manager.
Chalobah had been given a starting role on the Chelsea teamsheet for the opening day clash at Stamford Bridge against Crystal Palace following his impressive form during the pre-season camp earlier this summer.
The youngster repaid Tuchel’s faith by finding the back of the net as the west Londoners ran out convincing victors over Palace in a 3-0 scoreline to get the 2021-22 Premier League campaign off to a great start with Tuchel hoping for his players to mount a challenge for the top-flight crown this time around.
Chalobah’s current deal at the Bridge runs for another two years and on the back of his loan spells away from the club in recent seasons, it is widely expected of the player to secure regular minutes on the pitch as the ongoing season progresses.
