Chelsea vs Cardiff City: Match Report

Chelsea continued their 100% win march in their fifth game of the season. The Italian Boss was happier than ever, after the match. Looking at the start the home team had, you wouldn’t have known they were a goal down. Conceding a goal in just 16th minute, the Blues were following Cardiff with a goal down. Sol Bamba scored a brilliant flick past Kepa to give Cardiff the lead.

The Blues were creating chances more often than not in the box but were unsuccessful in crossing the ball over the line. Individual quality of Hazard and brilliant team play did reward them their first goal when the Belgian international struck past the keeper in bottom right corner.

The Belgian turned the match on it’s head after striking the second goal just before the end of first half. Both the assists coming from the legs of Olivier Giroud. Giroud fancied a lot of shots that were eventually denied by Cardiff’s defence. Cardiff who were up for just 20 odd minutes were trailing Chelsea in a blink of an eye. The team who was down till 37th minute was leading in the 43rd minute. This showed the class and skill a champion team requires, what Chelsea truly are.

The second half saw the Blues dominating the field and creating chances one after another before Willian fell down on the ground to hand Hazard a spot-kick. Short run-up, calm mind and perfect shoot took the ball into the nets. This was the third goal for Hazard and only his second hat-trick for the Blues. Willian would not be quiet and rocketed a brilliant shoot 3 minutes later, into the top right corner.

An eye-catching performance by Sarri’s team was followed by Sarri’s dream words. “My target is to be the best team in England, but not in one month,” said Sarri.
