Robert Huth has urged his former side Chelsea to end the ongoing contract deadlock with star central defender Antonio Rudiger whose future at Stamford Bridge beyond next summer looks increasingly uncertain.
Rudiger has failed to agree upon extended terms with Thomas Tuchel’s side despite the Chelsea boss pushing for the club’s board to concede to the player’s demands of a hike in his wages.
All this has come amid the talk gaining ground that the likes of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are keeping tabs on the 28-year-old Rudiger who has been a top performer for his side since Tuchel’s hiring earlier this year to the Chelsea top job.

Tuchel, meanwhile, has remained on the hunt in the market for alternative names with his longstanding target Jules Kounde still backed as a top name on the German’s shopping list should Rudiger seek an exit from the Chelsea camp next summer.
Former Blues man Huth, while speaking to BonusCodeBets, has voiced concerns over Chelsea parting ways with Rudiger with Huth insisting that the club should prioritise a bump in his wages to tie him down to a new contract.
”From a Chelsea point of view, do you give Antonio Rudiger what he wants and consider how much it would cost Chelsea to replace him?
“When Lampard was in charge, it didn’t look like he was going to turn it around as well as he has done.
“He’s been absolutely brilliant. In reality, what would it cost to replace him? It’ll probably cost around £40-50 million to replace him. They know what he can do and he’s been performing well.
“It’s a good position for Antonio to be in terms of negotiations because all the top clubs in Europe will be looking at him.”
