Timo Werner, last summer’s marquee arrival at Stamford Bridge, will not be heading out the exit door this summer amid interest in his services from La Liga giants Real Madrid who are now under the charge of Carlo Ancelotti.
It is believed that the veteran Italian coach who has made the move from Everton to Madrid is interested in signing the Chelsea star striker who endured a torrid spell in front of the goal in his debut campaign for the Blues.
After signing for Chelsea in a big-money move on the back of a highly influential season for RB Leipzig in Germany, it was expected of Werner to become a star turn for his side which did not materialise as he failed to hit the ground running in a consistent manner.
Despite his struggles, however, reports from The Mirror claim that Chelsea are not open to offloading the Germany international to Real Madrid this summer with Thomas Tuchel eager to see the player perform as per expectations in the forthcoming campaign.
Chelsea are also in the market for a new striker to bolster their attacking options with Dortmund’s talisman Erling Haaland the priority name on Tuchel’s shopping list for what is his first transfer window in charge on west London.
