Chelsea remain confident of signing Matthijs de Ligt this summer despite Manchester United joining the race for the highly-rated Dutchman.
The centre-back wants out of Juventus before the next season kicks off and it is Thomas Tuchel’s Blues who are credited with a strong interest in moving in for De Ligt’s signature.
Juventus are said to be aware of the fact that De Ligt is unsettled in Turin and the young defender is keen on making the switch to England’s top flight with some of the biggest clubs across the land open to forking out a big-money fee for the transfer.
According to a report from Foot Mercato, however, despite Manchester United keeping close tabs on the Juventus first-teamer, there is confidence on the rise in the Chelsea camp that they would be bringing De Ligt to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel has made a push to sign De Ligt after the club parted ways with key centre-back pairing Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen who have since made the move to Real Madrid and Barcelona respectively.
