According to Ben Jacobs of CBS Sports, Arsenal have made an initial bid for German forward Kai Havertz, which has been straightaway rejected by Chelsea. However, the Gunners are expected to come back with a revised offer in their pursuit of the player.
The German midfielder himself is reportedly open to the idea of joining Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium. However, the Gunners believe that Chelsea will not insist on their £75 million asking price for the talented forward.
The lack of specific details regarding the bid from Arsenal leaves us to speculate that there might have been a significant gap between their offer and Blue’s asking price for Havertz.
It appears logical for the 24-year-old to seek a move away from Stamford Bridge, considering his inconsistent performances despite his memorable goal in the 2021 Champions League final.

Havertz is a technically skilled player who excels in the number 10 position, but his time at Chelsea has seen him predominantly deployed as a striker, which hasn’t yielded the same level of success he achieved at Bayer Leverkusen.
If Chelsea were to receive an offer anywhere near £75 million for the midfielder, they should eagerly accept it. There are two main reasons for this deal.
Firstly, Havertz has struggled to make a significant impact, resulting in a decrease in his value compared to when the club signed him in the summer of 2020.
Secondly, he is still in the process of discovering his best position at the highest level, despite his undeniable quality.
