Chelsea ready to allow Kalidou Koulibaly to leave the club in the summer

Chelsea are ready to allow Kalidou Koulibaly to leave the club in the summer despite the centre-back signing for the Blues only last year.

Koulibaly had joined Chelsea from Napoli in summer of 2022 in one of the first additions under Chelsea’s new owners who have spent big in recent transfer windows to bolster the squad.

According to a report from teamTalk, it is claimed that the 31-year-old Koulibaly could be heading out the exit door at Stamford Bridge later this year with Chelsea planning a major rebuild of their ranks for which a clearout has been deemed necessary.

A move back to Italy is understood to be the most likely option for the Chelsea defender who is still held in high regard in the Serie A where he starred for Napoli before signing for the Blues ahead of the 2022-23 season.

Koulibaly has struggled to adapt to life in west London and his exit from the Stamford Bridge fold could open the door for Chelsea to bring in another defender as Graham Potter looks to reinforce his backline.
