Chelsea prepared to make Mason Mount one of their highest earners with new deal

Chelsea are prepared to make Mason Mount one of the highest earners in the Stamford Bridge fold with a new deal for the England international playmaker.

Mount currently pockets a modest figure of £75,000-a-week which could soon be doubled with Chelsea making efforts to end doubts over his future in west London amid interest in the player from elsewhere.

Chelsea’s owners, led by Todd Boehly, had awarded Mount’s teammate Reece James with a new six-year contract worth about £150,000 a week and it understood that the former could be in line for a similar agreement.

According to a report from The Guardian, it is claimed that Chelsea are well aware of the importance of keeping Mount at the Bridge and are open to doubling his current pay package which would be demanded by the 23-year-old.

He has been Chelsea’s player of the season for two years running and his contributions to the team since his breakthrough three years ago has been nothing short of phenomenal as he has emerged as a standout figure for both club and country.
