Roman Abramovich remains optimistic that Chelsea are in line to land the much-coveted signature of Borussia Dortmund’s wantaway talisman Erling Haaland this summer.
The Norway international has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge with the Blues gaffer Thomas Tuchel prioritising an approach for Haaland who has been one of the top attacking names in world football as of late.
Tuchel’s need for a new striking force this summer has led him to Inter Milan’s Romelu Lukaku and Dortmund’s Haaland but with the former intending to stay put in Italy, it is Haaland who has been aggressively courted by the west London giants.
Reports from The Express claim that Chelsea’s mega-rich owner Roman Abramovich is confident of sealing a big-money transfer for the Dortmund man despite the Bundesliga side insisting on being paid a hefty £170 million to part ways with their star striker.
Abramovich is open to adding more to Tuchel’s transfer kitty this summer and even offering an out-of-favour Tammy Abraham as a makeweight to coax Dortmund into sanctioning the transfer.
