Chelsea have completed the signing of Manchester City’s rising talent, Cole Palmer on a seven-year contract with the possibility of an extra year.
Joe Shields, a director at Chelsea who is familiar with Palmer from his tenure at Man City, is said to have played a crucial role in securing this deal.
This signing aligns with the club’s recent approach of bringing in young talents. The 21-year-old will provide competition on the right flank and serve as a backup in the number ten role, alongside his fellow youngster Noni Madueke.

Palmer expressed his thoughts on the move via Chelsea’s official website:
“I’m excited to get started, and it feels great to sign. I’ve joined Chelsea because the project here sounds good, and because of the platform, I will have to try to showcase my talents. It is a young and hungry squad, and hopefully, we can do something special here.”
For Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino, Palmer’s addition comes as a relief, especially given the injury-related setbacks he has faced with his squad.
The manager has been missing key players like Christopher Nkunku, striker Armando Broja, and speedster Mykhailo Mudryk.
With Palmer joining the team, Pochettino now has more attacking options at his disposal for their upcoming match against Nottingham Forest at Stamford Bridge tomorrow.
Chelsea have made significant changes this summer by bringing in 10 new players, such as Moisés Caicedo, Romeo Lavia, Axel Disasi, Nicolas Jackson, and Robert Sanchez. These signings come as the club allowed several players to depart in their summer overhaul.

Cole Palmer is the 11th addition to the team. The Blues have had a relatively modest start to the new season, earning four points in their initial three games.
They currently trail the defending champions, Manchester City, by five points, but they remain one of City’s primary competitors.
