Chelsea midfielder Romeo Lavia is expected to be sidelined for at least six weeks after the Belgian picked up an ankle injury in training.
The 19-year-old linked up with the Blues from Southampton in a £58 million deal this summer after snubbing a move to Liverpool who were early contenders for his coveted signature.
He is yet to make his debut in the Chelsea shirt and the wait could be extended further, according to a report from The Daily Mirror, which sounds that Lavia is in line to return from his recent injury setback in six weeks.
The former Southampton talent is said to have went over on his ankle during training last Thursday and following scans, the report mentions that the new Chelsea recruit could set to sit out at least five games.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side will be hoping to welcome back the Belgium international after next month’s international break with the west Londoners locking horns with city rivals Arsenal at Stamford Bridge on October 21.
