Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino dreams of signing Dusan Vlahovic

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino dreams of signing Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic in the upcoming transfer windows, as stated by CalciomercatoTV.

The Blues made investments in young strikers Nicolas Jackson and Deivid Washington during the summer, but the former has had a disappointing start with just one goal in six league games, and the latter has yet to make his senior debut for the club.

CalciomercatoTV suggests that Pochettino is now looking to add another striker to the squad next year, with Vlahovic being his top priority.

While the Serbian ace is open to a move to London, the report mentions that Chelsea might explore other options if Juventus sets unrealistic demands for the striker.

Vlahovic was a highly sought-after striker during his time at Fiorentina, where he impressively scored 34 goals in 2021 before making a big-money move to Juventus.

However, things haven’t gone as smoothly for him with the Italian giants, with injuries causing difficulties in the previous season, resulting in only 14 goals.

Chelsea had shown interest in signing Vlahovic last summer, possibly in a part-exchange deal involving Romelu Lukaku. It wouldn’t be surprising if they pursue the striker again either in January or next summer.

The 23-year-old star has been performing well in the current season, already scoring four goals in six league games for Juventus.

Chelsea had an opportunity to sign Vlahovic at a reasonable price last summer by using Lukaku in the deal, and this could still be a possibility if they are willing to wait until next summer.

Lukaku is currently on loan at Roma, but there is no purchase option in his loan deal. However, Vlahovic is not the only striker that Chelsea has their eye on.

The club has also been linked with Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, who could potentially be sold for a huge sum at the end of the season. Osimhen’s contract with Napoli expires in June 2025, and he has not yet considered a contract renewal.
