Chelsea looking to hijack Liverpool’s move for Romeo Lavia

Liverpool are actively seeking to strengthen their squad for the 2023-24 season and has set their sights on Southampton’s talented player, Romeo Lavia.

The Reds made an initial bid of £37 million for the 19-year-old, but it was rejected by Southampton. Undeterred, Liverpool are now preparing an improved offer to try and secure the services of the promising young star.

Southampton are seeking approximately £50 million for the Belgian midfielder who joined the club from Manchester City last summer.

Lavia received widespread praise for his impressive displays during the previous season, featuring in 29 Premier League matches and scoring a goal.

Due to Southampton’s relegation to the Championship, it is anticipated that the young midfielder will depart the club in the current transfer window.
