Chelsea Legend Michael Ballack Knows How To Keep Hazard At Stamford Bridge

Former Blues midfielder Michael Ballack has revealed as to how to keep Chelsea winger Eden Hazard at Stamford Bridge in the winter transfer window.

The reports that link Eden Hazard to Real Madrid just never seem to go away and when the winter transfer window opens, the La Liga giants will be looking to lure Hazard to the Santiago Bernabeu once again. With Real Madrid struggling at the moment, they will be desperate to sign Hazard once again in order to get back to their winning ways.

Hazard has not shied away from the ambition to join Real Madrid claiming that it would be a dream move if he were to join the Spanish outfit. With just 18 months left on Hazard’s current Chelsea deal, the 27-year-old is yet to sign a contract extension and has stalled the deal so far.

Every football fan knows the value of Hazard at Chelsea as the attacker is currently top of the scoring charts in the Premier League. And former Germany captain Michael Ballack has also highlighted what the West London club must do in order to keep him at Stamford Bridge.

While speaking to news outlet Goal, the 42-year-old stated that Chelsea needs to offer Hazard a vision more than a pay hike and give him more responsibility which will allow himself to challenge his quality, “You have to pay him a lot of money. But more importantly, you have to give him a vision. You have to tell him how important he is, ask him what he wants from the club and to give him a little bit more responsibility. You need to find out what he wants as well, ask him if he’s happy. Of course, you want to win something and be as successful as possible as an individual player. It is normal to look around and think, ‘With what club can I achieve that with?”

There is no doubt that Chelsea will try their best to keep hold of Hazard for as long as possible. But the status of Real Madrid is just so massive that Hazard may just feel that it’s inevitable for him to join the Spanish capital side to deserve a ‘legendary status’.
