Chelsea leave Benoit Badiashile and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang out of their Champions League squad

Chelsea have left January signing Benoit Badiashile and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang out of their Champions League squad for the knockout stages of the competition.

The Blues could register a maximum of only three players for the next stage of the tournament and they have decided to go through with Enzo Fernandez, Mykhailo Mudryk and Joao Felix, all of whom arrived at the Bridge this January.

According to a report from Sky Sports, it is claimed that both Badiashile and Aubameyang have been omitted from Chelsea’s Champions League knockout stages squad which was required to be submitted by February 2 11 PM.

Aubameyang could find himself on the fringes of the Chelsea squad in the coming months with the former Arsenal talisman last starting for Chelsea in their 1-0 home defeat to Arsenal last November as the veteran forward has failed to impress.

He has netted just three goals for the Blues since signing for them on deadline day last summer from La Liga giants Barcelona in a deal that included wing-back Marcos Alonso going the other way.
