Chelsea leading the race to sign longstanding target Aurelien Tchouameni

Chelsea are leading the race to sign longstanding target Aurelien Tchouameni with Juventus no longer in the picture for the Frenchman.

The Blues camp have been linked with a move for the AS Monaco midfield talent who has earned rave reviews for his consistent set of displays in the Ligue 1 since the last campaign.

With the Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel backed to dip into the transfer market for a new midfield signing in light of his loan recruit Saul Niguez failing to impress since his deadline day transfer, Tchouameni is seen as a viable target at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have now gained ground on that front, according to reports from the Italian news outlet CalcioMercato, it is claimed that the Serie A heavyweights Juventus have pulled out of the race to land the signature of the 20-year-old Tchouameni.

Thomas Tuchel’s side are best placed to secure the signing which is understood to be high on the priority list for the Chelsea manager whose players have been nothing short of high-flyers early on in this campaign.
