Chelsea keeping tabs on the in-form Brighton forward Leandro Trossard

Chelsea are understood to be keeping tabs on the in-form Brighton forward Leandro Trossard with the new boss Graham Potter on the hunt for new signings when the transfer window reopens in January.

Potter’s appointment to the top job at Stamford Bridge just hours after Thomas Tuchel was given the sack has sounded out that Chelsea’s new owners mean business and would be backing their new manager on the transfer front.

The Blues snapped up the likes of Raheem Sterling and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the summer window but both signings arrive as direct replacements for the outgoing duo Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner.

According to a claim by the Belgian news outlet Voetbal Primeur, the new Chelsea head coach Potter will be keen on a reunion with Trossard who has been an influential performer in the Brighton camp early on this season.

Potter, meanwhile, is expected to bolster his options in the attacking third of the pitch by signing another quality forward in the shape of Trossard with the Belgian winger likely to provide the firepower for Chelsea which has been missing of late.
