Chelsea has been eyeing to land Strasbourg’s young defender, Mohamed Simakan as per the reports in Le 10 Sport. The 20 years old centre-back is on the verge of moving out of the club in the transfer season with the like of Serie A giant, AC Milan and Nice also keen to sign him.
Chelsea will have to fight in order to sign Simakan. He has been playing in the Ligue 1 for Strasbourg consistently and hasn’t missed a single minute.
‘The defender has played every minute of this season’s Ligue 1 campaign and could leave the club in January, with the Blues reportedly in the chase for his signature,’ states the report in Chelsea’s Official Website .
‘Simakan is said to be valued at around £13.5m, while AC Milan and Nice are also reportedly interested in acquiring the 20-year-old’s services.’
The reports say that the Chelsea board sees Simakan as a potential talented defender who can be the one for the future with Kurt Zouma and Thiago Silva already forming a strong partnership. Simakan, who is valued at £13.5million, has scored one goal and assisted once in this season as he featured in 17 games so far.
With the uncertainty revolving around the likes of Andreas Christensen, Antonio Rudiger and Fikayo Tomori- Simakan and Malang Sarr of Chelsea can be the centre-back duo of Chelsea in the future.
