Chelsea in line for a three-way battle to land Leipzig’s Josko Gvardiol

Chelsea in line for a three-way battle to land Leipzig’s Josko Gvardiol with Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur also keen on the defensive talent.

Thomas Tuchel’s hunt has been underway for reinforcements to shore up his options at the back with the Chelsea manager losing two quality centre-backs in Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen this summer.

The loss of the two players would force Tuchel to bring in a highly-rated name and bolster the defensive roster with RB Leipzig’s first-teamer Josko Gvardiol emerging as a possible name on the German’s shopping list, according to the rumour mill.

A report from The Telegraph has now suggested that the Stamford Bridge giants are not the only suitors for the Croatian international who also has the likes of Spurs and Manchester United chasing his signature.

Gvardiol, who has proven to be a standout performer for Leipzig despite being only 20 years old, is tipped to be available for around £40-50 million which could be a reasonable asking price to Chelsea under their incoming change in ownership.
