Chelsea reportedly have a clause in place to match any successful bid and re-sign the young central defender Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace.
The highly-rated defensive talent made the move to Selhurst Park last summer from the Stamford Bridge fold with Guehi seeking regular first-team opportunities elsewhere.
Crystal Palace, under the newly appointed boss Patrick Viera, forked out a sizable sum of £18 million to land Guehi’s signature from Chelsea with Thomas Tuchel giving his nod to the sale despite the player’s immense talent shown at the youth level.
According to a claim from The Sun journalist Tom Barclay ( via football.london), it is suggested that Chelsea have the option to match a bid for Guehi in the future and have it accepted should the west Londoners explore the possibility of re-signing the 21-year-old.
Guehi, on the back of his stellar run of form in recent times at Selhurst Park, earned a maiden call up to the England international side under Gareth Southgate’s charge for the ongoing international break.
