Chelsea defender Marc Guéhi signs for Crystal Palace on a long-term deal

Chelsea’s young central defender Marc Guéhi has officially signed for fellow Premier League outfit Crystal Palace on a long-term deal which will run until the summer of 2026.

Palace continue their recent spending spree this summer under new boss Patrick Vieira who took over at Selhurst Park earlier this month and has been backed to overhaul his first-team ranks ahead of the next season.

Guehi was a loanee at Championship outfit Swansea City last season and the England U21 international had been expected to seal a move away from Stamford Bridge this summer with Crystal Palace leading the widely-contested race to land his signature.

The defensive starlet becomes the second highly-promising centre-back to call it quits at Stamford Bridge this summer after the 22-year-old Fikayo Tomori left Thomas Tuchel’s camp earlier in this transfer window to join Serie A giants AC Milan on a long-term agreement.

Reports from Goal claim that Chelsea are in line to pocket a fee worth £20 million for sanctioning Guehi’s sale to Palace with the youngster leaving the Blues after turning out just twice in first-team football after making it through the club’s youth academy.
