Chelsea have been handed a blow in their pursuit of AC Milan star Rafael Leao who is in line to extend his stay at the San Siro beyond the end of the season.
Leao has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in the recent past with the Portugal international winger yet to agree upon extended terms with the Serie A holders.
According to a report from The Daily Express, it is claimed that Chelsea look set to miss out on Leao who was a top target for the former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel with the German attempting to snap him up last summer.
Leao is said to have now agreed a new five-year contract with Milan despite interest in his services from the likes of Manchester City and Chelsea with both Premier League clubs keeping close tabs on his situation.
He was key to Milan clinching their first Scudetto in over a decade last season with the young pacy forward growing into one of the big name wingers across Europe.
