Chelsea are understood to be eyeing up a move for Brighton centre-back Adam Webster as an alternative to Leicester City’s Wesley Fofana.
The 21-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in this summer’s transfer window with the Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel on the lookout for reinforcements to bolster his depleted backline.
According to a report from The Daily Mail, following Leicester’s well documented reluctance on parting ways with Fofana despite Chelsea being ready to fork out a big-money fee, Adam Webster could be a new name on Tuchel’s shopping list.
Webster’s current terms at the AMEX Stadium are due to expire in the summer of 2026 and has insisted he wants to stay put with the Seagulls but Chelsea’s interest in the defender could convince him otherwise.
Chelsea have brought in Kalidou Koulibaly to add to their centre-back options after losing key first-team duo Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen this summer to Real Madrid and FC Barcelona respectively.
