Chelsea defender Thiago Silva confirms talks are underway over a new contract which could see him stay put with the Blues for another year beyond this summer.
The veteran Brazilian has been a key figure for Graham Potter’s side, featured 18 times for them in the Premier League this term, but speculation over his future at the club has been rife since the turn of the year.
Premier League giants Liverpool, who have been dealt numerous injury blows amid their horrid season so far, were linked with a move for Silva with the centre-back heading into free agency at the end of the season.
Silva has formed a promising relationship with the Chelsea new boy Benoit Badiashile who signed for the Blues in the January transfer window from AS Monaco to provide Potter with much-needed reinforcements at the back.
