Chelsea defender Kalidou Koulibaly could set for a move back to Italy this summer

Chelsea defender Kalidou Koulibaly could set for a move back to Italy this summer with the Blues camp considering cashing in on him just a year after he signed for the club.

Koulibaly made the move to Stamford Bridge last summer from Napoli but endued a difficult debut campaign in the Premier League which could spell out an earlier-than-expected departure from the country for the centre-back.

According to a report from the Evening Standard, it is claimed that Chelsea are hoping to sell the Senegal international back to an Italian side in the upcoming summer transfer window with the Blues planning a major clearout from their squad.

The report also mentions that Koulibaly himself wants to stay put at the Bridge to stay to prove himself and interested clubs are reluctant to accept his high wage demands which could see him retained by Chelsea for another season.

Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile are two centre-backs who are certain to stay with the Blues heading into the summer after signing long-term contracts following big-money transfers this term.
