Chelsea could offload Timo Werner with FC Barcelona eyeing his signature

Chelsea could offload Timo Werner in the forthcoming winter transfer window with FC Barcelona eyeing his signature with great interest.

The La Liga heavyweights are backed to dip into the market for reinforcements in attack and have identified Werner as a viable target to keep tabs with the January window set to open at the turn of the year.

Werner has failed to hit the ground running for the Blues since his move to Stamford Bridge from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2020 and Chelsea might be forced to part ways with the striker in the near future.

According to a report from the Spanish news outlet El Nacional, it is claimed that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is willing to sanction Werner’s sale to FC Barcelona who are interested in opening talks to land the player.

The newly appointed Barcelona boss Xavi will be looking to bring in fresh faces for an underwhelming roster he finds at his disposal and Werner’s arrival could give him some much-needed firepower in the final third.
