Chelsea could lose out on the signature of top summer target Caglar Soyuncu to Real Madrid who are frontrunners for the Turkish centre-back.
The Blues boss Thomas Tuchel is desperate to shore up his options at the back in the summer transfer window with him losing both Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen on free transfers after their deals at the Bridge expired.
Despite reports suggesting that the west London outfit were closing in on the capture of long-standing target Jules Kounde from Sevilla, Tuchel has been dealt a major blow in the pursuit of Leicester City star Soyuncu.
According to a report from the Spanish news outlet AS, it is claimed that Chelsea’s strong interest in the central defender, which is rivalled by the likes of Manchester City, Juventus and Real Madrid, is unlikely to materialise.
Real’s entry in the mix for Soyuncu would add salt to the wounds for Chelsea and Tuchel with the La Liga champions also landing Stamford Bridge favourite Rudiger on a four year deal following his departure from the English capital.
