Antonio Rudiger has officially secured his move to Real Madrid

According to the Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid has completed a deal to sign Chelsea center-back Antonio Rudiger.

In the summer, the 29-year-old German is out of contract at Stamford Bridge. Real Madrid, 13-time Champions League winners, have finally secured his services after signing him on a four-year free transfer.

Rudiger has been a revelation for Chelsea since manager Thomas Tuchel took over a year ago.

He joined Chelsea from Roma in 2017, but it has been the last two seasons that he has truly demonstrated his worth.

He was named one of the Blues’ players of the season after helping them win the Champions League last season.

The Blues attempted to negotiate a deal for him to stay in west London, but they have been unable to continue talks for the past few months due to sanctions imposed on Roman Abramovich and the club’s consequent UK Government special license.

As a result, Real Madrid has made their move and convinced the Stamford Bridge favorite to relocate to Spain this summer.

The Spanish heavyweights have had a huge setback in terms of the team success during the Covid pandemic but as things stand Florentino Perez is on the lookout to bring his club to the top.

It’s a loss to which more and more Chelsea fans had become accustomed throughout the season, as negotiations stalled even before the sanctions were imposed.

Since Tuchel’s arrival, Rudiger has been a key member of Chelsea’s squad, recording 74 appearances under his compatriot. Only Mason Mount (76) has received more summons.
