Chelsea could look to sign long-term target Niklas Sule on the cheap

Chelsea could look to sign long-term target Niklas Sule on the cheap with the defender’s contract talks with Bayern Munich halted for now.

The Germany international centre-back has long been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge with Thomas Tuchel keen on adding Sule to his roster and improve upon his options at the back.

Tuchel was unable to land Jules Kounde from Sevilla in this summer’s transfer window despite repeated efforts made by the Chelsea manager in the final hours of the deadline day as Sevilla played hardball over pricing concerns.

Reports from German football expert Christian Falk claim that Sule’s talks with the Bayern Munich camp to pen a new deal have hit a roadblock and will be put on hold giving Chelsea a chance to emerge as suitors for the 26-year-old ahead of the January window.

The uncertainty which continues to grow over Antonio Rudiger’s long-term future in the Chelsea shirt has forced Thomas Tuchel to scout the transfer market for reinforcements with Rudiger free to talk to other clubs in less than four months.
