Chelsea could give Marc Cucurella his dream shirt number upon Stamford Bridge move

Chelsea could give Marc Cucurella his dream shirt number upon his move to Stamford Bridge which looks imminent in the coming weeks.

According to a report from football.london, Chelsea appeared to have hijacked Manchester City’s approach for the Brighton wing-back and are closing in on completing the transfer in a deal of around £50 million.

Brighton’s refusal to lower their valuation of the Spaniard forced Manchester City to drop their long-standing plans of bringing in the former La Liga talent to the Etihad and allowed Chelsea to jump ahead in the chase.

Cucurella is understood to be keen on wearing the number 3 jersey for his new side and with that number currently occupied by Man City star Ruben Dias, the Premier League holders would not have been able to cede to his demands.

Chelsea, however, could do just that with the current occupant of the number 3 jersey in Marcos Alonso, heavily linked with a move away from the English capital, with Barcelona eager on securing his services.
