Chelsea could ask for Denzel Dumfries from Inter Milan in Romelu Lukaku deal

Chelsea could ask for Dutch wing-back Denzel Dumfries from Inter Milan in a deal involving Stamford Bridge loanee Romelu Lukaku who is currently at San Siro.

The Blues shipped out their record signing back to Milan in the summer window after Lukaku’s below-par campaign in the Premier League last term and during the negotiations of his return, a move for Dumfries was mulled over.

Dumfries has long been on the transfer radar at the Bridge with Chelsea looking to bring in a full-back to provide competition to Reece James who currently faces a spell on the sidelines with an injury until after the World Cup.

According to a report from football.london, it is claimed that Chelsea could be looking to sign Dumfries when they go into talks with the Inter Milan camp over Lukaku’s situation beyond the end of his loan spell next summer.

The Chelsea head coach Graham Potter has been left with just Cesar Azpilicueta and Ruben Loftus-Cheek as his only viable options in the senior team following the injury setback for James.
