Chelsea contract rebel Antonio Rudiger is believed to be demanding a €7 million annual package from his suitors FC Barcelona who are leading the race to land his signature.
Rudiger is heavily linked with a move away from the English capital this coming summer with the central defender heading into free agency after rebuffing attempts from Chelsea to tie him down to renewed terms.
The Germany international’s demands for a major wage bump have put Chelsea off on extending a new deal to Rudiger, one of the top performers under Thomas Tuchel’s charge at Stamford Bridge since the German took over from Frank Lampard last year.
According to a report from The Daily Mirror, it is claimed that Rudiger has asked for a wage worth £113,000-a-week – coupled with a signing-on fee from Barcelona with the Spanish giants looking to bring in the 29-year-old to bolster their ranks.
Barca have already closed in on another Chelsea rebel in Andreas Christensen with the Danish defender backed to make the move to Camp Nou on a free transfer after declining to extend his stay with Thomas Tuchel’s west Londoners.
