Chelsea boss Graham Potter keen on Inter wing-back Denzel Dumfries

Chelsea boss Graham Potter is understood to be keen on Inter Milan wing-back Denzel Dumfries ahead of the upcoming January transfer window.

Dumfries was heavily linked with a move to the Premier League last summer with Manchester United stepping up their approach to sign the Dutchman only for Inter to play hardball over the asking price.

Under their new ownership, the Stamford Bridge giants are tipped to loosen their purse strings once again when the transfer window reopens for business in the New Year as Potter eyes up reinforcements from the market to bolster his ranks.

In light of the long-term injury to Reece James which sidelines the England international wing-back until after the World Cup later this year, Dumfries has been earmarked as the first-choice target in the position, according to a report from 90min.

Since James was ruled out with an injury, Potter has utilized the likes of Cesar Azpilicueta and Raheem Sterling in the right wing-back role but to no stellar displays which could prompt the Chelsea boss to bring in fresh blood.
