Chelsea and Real Madrid are both interested in signing Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic in the current summer transfer window, as reported by TalkSport.
The Blues are keen on strengthening their attacking options and have already had a bid turned down by Juventus for the 23-year-old Serbian striker.
Juventus are open to letting Vlahovic go, but they have set an asking price of £77 million for his transfer. Now, Chelsea will face competition from Real Madrid in their pursuit to secure the striker’s signature.
Carlo Ancelotti has taken the initiative of making a phone call regarding Vlahovic. This comes after the departure of Karim Benzema, the 2022 Ballon d’Or winner, who joined Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League this summer. Benzema had been a key player for Real Madrid for several years.
With the veteran striker’s exit, the La Liga giants now have Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo as their only established attackers.

Vlahovic, who was once considered one of the biggest prospects during his time at Fiorentina, has seen his reputation decline a bit since moving to Juventus in January 2022. Both Chelsea and Real Madrid are interested in signing him as they look to bolster their attacking options.
Chelsea have signed Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson to strengthen the forward line, but there is still a clear need for a true number nine in the squad. While Romelu Lukaku is currently with the club, his future is uncertain.
The Blues have also sold some attacking players during the current transfer window, with Kai Havertz joining the Gunners and Christian Pulisic moving to AC Milan on a permanent deal.

With these changes, manager Mauricio Pochettino clearly requires a prolific goalscorer for the upcoming season.
Although the interest in Vlahovic remains, it is yet to be seen whether he will ultimately be the one Chelsea ends up acquiring to fill the void in their striker position.
