Chelsea To Appoint Frank Lampard As The Club’s New Manager

According to the latest reports, Premier League side Chelsea are ready to announce Frank Lampard as the club’s new manager over the next few hours.

Following Petr Cech’s arrival at Chelsea as the Technical Director, another legend is set to arrive at Stamford Bridge. Arguably Chelsea’s best ever play Frank Lampard is ready to be announced as the club’s new manager following the departure of Maurizio Sarri.

Sarri arrived at Chelsea last season and replaced fellow Italian compatriot Antonio Conte at the West London club. The 60-year-old led the Blues to the final of the League Cup but lost out to Manchester City on penalty shootouts. However, Sarri took Chelsea to a third-place finish on the Premier League and managed to win the Europa League as well, which was incidentally his first major trophy in 30 years as a manager.

But the former Napoli master tactician decided to leave Chelsea and return to Serie A as the Juventus job opened up. Now there is a vacancy at Chelsea but there are plenty of names linked with the job offer at the club. One candidate who is a strong favorite is former Blue Frank Lampard.

The 41-year-old ex-English midfielder was in charge of Championship side Derby County last season and came within a whisker of bringing the Rams into the Premier League through promotion. Derby is still desperate to keep hold of Lampard because he did quite a stellar job at the club and were willing to offer him a £10 million-contract but the offer at Stamford Bridge seems too strong to shake away.

The reports claim that Lampard will take over Chelsea this summer but faces a difficult task ahead of him as the club just lost key player Eden Hazard. More so, the Blues face a transfer ban which means Lampard will not have the chance to sign players for a whole year.

However, Lampard will have the opportunity to bring in any of the 43 players Chelsea sent out on loan to kick off his new era as a manager at Chelsea Football club.
