Chelsea Agree Terms With Ajax Over Ziyech

After spending over a year without making a new signing because of a transfer ban, the Chelsea faithful have heaved a huge sigh of relief when the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) reduced their ban in time for the January winter window but rather shockingly, the club failed to strengthen and lure in players.

The Blues were heavily linked with several notable names throughout the transfer window but the club ended January without bolstering their squad which was rather extremely disappointing, considering that they are still in the running for three competitions.

But in the latest developments of the transfer tavern, reports have stated that the club has entered into advanced talks with Dutch side Ajax over the signing of Moroccan midfielder Hakim Ziyech.

The 26-year-old winger has been with the Eredivisie outfit since 2016 and with his creativity, technique, and shooting accuracy Ziyech has played a key role in Ajax’s domestic double as well as Champions League semifinal finish the last term.

Although Ajax has made it public that Ziyech is not for sale anytime soon there are rumors circulating that Chelsea and Ajax have concluded on details of the transfer, with the only hindrance being Ziyech agreeing personal terms with the West London outfit.

And now it seems that it is only a matter of time before Ajax confirm the deal of Ziyech moving to Chelsea for a reported transfer fee of €45 million. If Ziyech signs for Chelsea, he will add a different style and dynamism for Lampard’s team in midfield that has been lacking creativity.
